Carriers measure and weigh packages multiple times in transit, and generally the automated machines they use are extremely accurate, down to fractions of an inch.

If your measurements differ from the carrier’s measurements, check your measurements to make sure they account for all of the following:

  • Bulges

  • Bowing

  • Crushed edges and corners

  • Tape seams

  • Uneven flaps

  • Straps

  • Handles

  • Wheels

For detailed instructions about how to measure your package, see “What dimensions do I enter?

If you’re sure the details of your shipment you booked were correct, you may dispute a carrier adjustment. "How do I dispute a carrier adjustment?"
